| Marian Call, QMx and the musicians behind 'Got To Fly'remind us ever, that Earth That Was or 'Verse that shall be, we will always long for music. This is a soulful and carefree tribute to our favorite Robin Hoodlums. Marian's music deserves to be played and replayed alongside those fourteen short stories and one big damn tale forever sung about the campfires of other worlds. |

| I can''t stop listening to her enchanting voice with those heartfelt and uplifting lyrics of hope and imagination. Close your eyes and see our favorite characters and ships as the melodies wisk you off somewhere between the ''Verse and an old space-warship. I had to listen on her Myspace page repeatedly while waiting for this cd to arrive in the mail. I hope she does another album of this type again. Thank you Marian and Qmx! |

| Marian Call''s imagination is Antares bound. All will bob in the waves: the exquisite vocals, the music; all tracks are excellent. "Don''t Try" is like freewheeling variations on Carole King''s "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?" There''s pleasing ribbing in "It''s Good to Have Jayne on Your Side", "It was Good for You Too" and the facile "I''ll Still be a Geek...": three cheers for River! "Dark Dark Eyes" is quiescent, like CSNY''s "Helpless, Helpless".
Thanks, Quantum Mechanix, for this fine CD, with its notes and photos. It is an unanticipated ray of sunshine, like an imaginary collaboration between Bernstein and Gershwin -- tasked with a Star Wars score.
Aficionados may ride all the waves; for others, this will serve as a portal to the intricacies of the Serenity/Firefly stories. Had it been a run of 10,000, or more, these CDs would nonetheless have been instant collectibles -- like Cat Stevens'' LP soundtrack for "Harold and Maude"; this is Ms. Call''s "Mona Bone Jakon". (Its tracks will be accessible in digital form.)
